Day 1Arrival – Antigua Guatemala

Meet and greet at La Aurora International Airport and transfer to the City of Antigua, Guatemala (1 hour).

Day 2Pacaya Volcano

Our tour starts with a morning transfer (1hr) to the foothills of the active Pacaya volcano. The hike begins with a moderately strenuous hike through a beautiful pine forest, continues up the more tricky volcanic ash section, and finally to the sulfur smoking cone.

We can enjoy great views of the northern volcanoes, the Pacific lowlands, and El Salvador from the summit. Back at the volcano’s base, our support vehicle awaits us for our transfer back to Antigua.

Day 3Antigua Guatemala – Lake Atitlan

On this day it is time for our journey to the ruins and museums that combined with the old cobbled streets keep the stories and legends of those colonial times. Afternoon transfer to Lake Atitlan.

Day 4Lake Atitlan

This morning, you will take a boat ride across Lake Atitlan towards San Juan La Laguna, where you will visit the women’s textile cooperative. Visit the studios/homes of the celebrated naif painters, and then continue to the village of Santiago for an immersion in local culture.

Day 5Zip line & Flight to Flores

After breakfast, you will visit San Buenaventura, a natural reserve in Lake Atitlan dedicated to preserving the flora and fauna of the lake, and the environmental education for a canopy adventure tour.

After this exciting adventure, transfer to Guatemala City airport for your flight to the Flores area.

18:50 hrs. Meet & greet at Flores airport and transfer to your hotel.

Day 6Las Guacamayas Biological Station

After breakfast, you will be ready to take a trip to Laguna del Tigre National Park, on the banks of the San Pedro River and near the Sacluc stream.

After a 2-hour transfer from Flores to the Paso Caballos community, you will board a boat to the Las Guacamayas Biological Station. Upon arrival at the site, you will have lunch and time to explore the site.

Day 7El Peru – Yaxha National Park

Jungle morning wake-up call: after breakfast, you will start the hike to visit the El Peru Archaeological site, explore the ruins, and spot the Guacamayas (scarlet macaw).

After lunch, we will board the boat at Rio San Pedro towards Paso Caballos.

From Paso Caballos, we will take the minibus to Yaxha National Park.

Day 8Yaxha – Tikal National Park

Enjoy the sunrise at the Shore of Yaxha Lake. After breakfast, you explore the Yaxha Archaeological site and its exuberant forest, where howling monkeys flood the atmosphere with their howls to impress the females or to move away from an intruding male in their flock. We will climb some temples that are the photographers’ accomplices, as they offer beautiful views. After the Yaxha tour, you will be transferred to Tikal.

Day 9Tikal National Park

After breakfast, you will have a guided on fantastic trails under the tropical rainforest in the heart of the Mayan world that inhabits the abundant wildlife, the Mayan forest, and millennial temples, silent witnesses of the birth and splendor as well as of the collapse of one of the most important civilizations on the planet.

Transfer to the airport in the afternoon and flight to Guatemala City
